Snippet from my book of tips for college students, brought to you by my dear friend, Eric Kriftcher:
“Get[ting] out of your comfort zone is a way to … tap into an additional network of friends. If you’re not inclined to the arts, go to a concert or show or see if you can encourage someone to go with you. The same if you’re not an athlete [go to a game]. Go to a lecture on a topic that you don’t know much about. Take advantage of all the school offers, not just the limited universe with which you’re familiar.”
All I can say is that this works. It’s awkward at first, but then you realize everyone feels the same way about doing stuff that’s new. And you may just discover a real passion you never thought you had.
